Things are getting very busy here at Manor Models, Christmas seems to come earlier every year, or perhaps it is something to do with the impending UK Vat increase. I'm desparately trying not to use the cheesey line 'beat the Vat increase' oops there I've done it!
Anyway that apart I have a really interesting new product coming along very soon, hopefully in time for the next newsletter, if I can find a minute between packing parcels to get it sorted. So watch this space.
The safety valve on many of the pre-1990 Wilesco models used a courser thread than the post 1990 version. As a consequence Wilesco no longer make a safety valve for these older engines. Following many requests I decided to make a reproduction one which is similar to the original although it is brass rather than nickel plated.
Hopefully this will help some enthusiasts who are clearly struggling to find this part:
As an alternative to the solid fuel burner on the Wilesco Traction Engine and Steam Roller we now have a spirit burner which will fit into the slider where the solid fuel burner fits. It is simply an interference fit but will slide in and out when required. So if you prefer using meths on your Wilesco engine why not have a look at one of these.
Nothing major on Railways except for a steady increase in the spares range. I have been spending weekends re-landscaping the garden in preparation for my own MSS Mamod railway, but more of that when I have something more interesting to show than just a dug trench..
