Steam Toys in Action 2011:

A sincere thanks to everyone who took the time and trouble to come and say hello at STIA 2011. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many like-minded people. Hope to do it again next year.

New 'Tools and Materials' section:

A tools section has been added to the website featuring tools and materials relevant to steam repair. For example the pop-rivet gun has specifically been chosen because the nose will fit inside most of the Mamod static engine chimneys to aid repair of wobbly chimneys. The rivets that come with it include the copper and aluminium ones as used on Mamod engines. The foam sanding blocks are good for cleaning Mazak wheels.

I hope to extend the range of tools with both commercially available items and also custom made ones.

Polishing Mops:

Polishing mops (1 inch diameter) are available for the Mamod accessory but I don't yet have a replacement grinding wheel, but I'm working on it. I may be able to get Wilesco ones but they are a bit larger I think. If anyone has need of grinding wheels please email or phone and I'll see what I can do.

General Purpose Wheels:

These 2 inch diameter wheels may be useful to scratch builders, perhaps on a custom trailer? They are cast from aluminium so are very light and of no use whatsoever as a flywheel. £3.50 each.

Little Brass Coal Buckets:

I sometimes get asked for small buckets as enhancment products so, well, here is what I came up with, hope you like it. The coal is glued in so it won't fall out.

Wilesco D320 Steam Lorry

Yes you have guessed it, the March deadline came and went for production of this. So what's the latest delivery date??? May!! All my customers who have left a deposit for the first batch of these have been informed. There are rumours of a price increase as well but I will do my level best to absorb that for anyone who has pre-paid. Given the poor delivery on these I have stopped taking further deposits. I have probably reached my quota anyway.

Wilesco Burners

In response to specific customer requests I have introduced 2 new Wilesco burners one for the smaller engines D5 and D6 and another for the large engines of the D12 and D16 (etc) variety. They are both really just longer and shorter versions of the existing D405 spirit burner.

Production problems at MSS, the manufacturer, have meant that MSS Locos have been slow in arriving (leaves on the line probably) although I do believe the situation has improved recently.

And Finally....... A picture of my garden railway..... Still under construction since Jan 2010!

Yeah, well, nuff said!
